This playful interaction coincided with Elon Musk's announcement of an upcoming algorithm update aimed at prioritizing positive and engaging content over negativity. However, when users inquired about their social credit scores, Grok 2 clarified that no official social credit system exists on X, likening it to the controversial model in China. Instead, the AI suggested that the “X Score” is an informal, humorous reflection of user activity and engagement on the platform. Musk later confirmed that no such score had been implemented, and any algorithm changes would be communicated transparently.
