Top-Rated Receiver Chooses Colorado: Quanell Farrakhan Jr. Commits

Quanell Farrakhan Jr., a four-star wide receiver from North Shore High School in Houston, has publicly announced his commitment to join the University of Colorado and play under head coach Deion Sanders. Farrakhan, rated as the No. 36 receiver in the 2025 class by 247Sports, had 26 scholarship offers from top-tier programs, including Alabama and Texas A&M, but ultimately chose CU. During his live commitment ceremony on YouTube, Farrakhan cited a strong connection with Coach Sanders and the coaching staff as a significant factor in his decision. He was particularly impressed by Sanders' work with Travis Hunter and the opportunity to play on both sides of the ball. Farrakhan’s junior stats are impressive: he recorded 46 receptions for 809 yards and 12 touchdowns, along with 99 rushing yards for five touchdowns on 11 carries, and 283 return yards. His commitment adds to CU’s growing 2025 class, making him the second four-star recruit alongside offensive lineman Chauncey Gooden from Nashville.
