The Colorado women's volleyball team faced a challenging week, culminating in a disappointing four-set loss to Wyoming in the final match of the Buffs Invitational. After a promising start to the week, where they managed to defeat UC Irvine and swept California, the Buffs could not maintain their momentum against the Cowgirls. The match marked the first encounter between these regional rivals since 2019, with Wyoming securing its first victory at the CU Events Center since 1992. Despite a strong opening set where the Buffs took the lead, Wyoming quickly regained control, showcasing a powerful performance with a hitting percentage of .301 compared to Colorado's mere .105. The Buffs struggled with 30 attack errors, which ultimately hindered their chances. Sydney Jordan and Ana Burilovic led Colorado with 12 kills each, while setter Taylor Simpson was named tournament MVP. The team now looks forward to a home-and-home series against Colorado State, aiming to bounce back.
