The American Express® Gold Card is set to increase its annual fee from $250 to $325, effective July 25, 2024. This 30% hike comes with new perks aimed at offsetting the cost, including a $100 annual statement credit for dining at Resy restaurants and an $84 annual credit for Dunkin' purchases, provided cardholders enroll in these benefits. Additionally, the card now allows for a $10 monthly dining credit at Five Guys, expanding its eligible dining options. However, starting January 1, 2025, cardholders will only earn 4x points on the first $50,000 spent on dining each year. New cardholders can also opt for a limited-edition white-gold card. As annual fees for credit cards continue to rise, potential cardholders should weigh the benefits against the increased cost to determine if the American Express® Gold Card remains a valuable choice for their spending habits.
