Shropshire Council is actively promoting its Small Business Grants scheme, which provides funding ranging from £2,000 to £10,000 to support local businesses in enhancing their services and creating jobs. So far, the council has awarded nearly £100,000 to 63 businesses in the latest funding round, but the application deadline is fast approaching on January 10. Mark Jones, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for growth and regeneration, emphasized the importance of this funding for economic growth in the county and encouraged potential applicants to take the first step by submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI). The grants, funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, cover up to 50% of costs for equipment purchases or workspace improvements. A diverse range of businesses have already benefited, with successful applications including items like laser therapy machines and mobile gelato bikes. The council urges businesses to clearly articulate how the funding will positively impact their operations.
